Hi, I have just got a new (for me) macbook pro with Mavericks installed. I would like to create a recovery disc etc and saw a couple of your tools but can’t download them from the dropbox for some reason. Are you still offering your programs.

    thanks

    Hello, Christopher.

I ran Recovery Partition Creator 4.0.1. During disk check, RPC returned the following error:

The variable mainDrive is not defined.

After I select the El Capitan installer, RPC returned the following error:

The variable mainPartition is not defined.

    My iMac is:

    iMac (27-inch, Late 2009)
    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    1TB HD
    OS X v10.11.5

    Thank you.

Not sure if English is your primary language but I have had numerous people report success once they set their language as English. I realize that isn’t easy for everyone but I have seen the errors go away when you do that. I will try and see if there is a way to internationalize the program so that it works with other languages.

          Thank you,

          Chris

SUCCESS!! My primary language is spanish but i have changed to english and finished OK! Then restarted and launched partition recovery CMD+R and started perfectly. Thank you very much. GREAT JOB!

That is good to hear. Thank you for your letting me know it worked. I will endeavour to fix the language issues.

            Cheers,

            Chris

    Hello, Christopher.

I downloaded and used Recovery Partition Creator 4.0.2, on 2016-06-17.

It did not create the new volume. I took screenshots of each RPC window. May I send them to you?

    Thank you.

That would be great. I just made some changes and updated to 4.0.3. I noticed an error in how I detected the drive to install the recovery partition on. Hopefully that will reduce some errors.

        Hello, Christopher.

I downloaded and used Recovery Partition Creator 4.0.3, on 2016-06-18.

RPC stated that it completed the process, successfully. I accessed that iMac, remotely. As such, I cannot boot into that volume, until Monday morning. I used EtreCheck to examine my system. Its report states that the recovery partition is present.

I still possess all of my screenshots of the installation process.

RPC is a fine piece of work. My gratitude.

        Regards,

        Kurt

If you would like to share the screen shots that would be fine. It would be nice to see what it looks like in an environment I don’t control.

Hi Christopher, I am trying to build a recovery partition. I have 2 MacMinis with same model midi 2011. Both came originally with Lion if I could remember. During OS X upgrades the recovery partition disappeared.
On one of them I could recreate the recovery partition changing the language to english ( and country do US too) .
Without the language change it does not work. After all ready and changing the language back to brazilian portuguese and applied the Apple 10.11.6 El Capitan release. All working fine and finally I could apply the Continuity Activation Tool patch to enable Continuity in the midi2011 MacMini. Also working fine. Without the recovery partition I could not use the “csrutil disable” command that , in my case, is not available when entering the network recover mode. With the recovery partition created I could use the new command.
All targeted to use the continuity resource.

On the other Mac mini I tried to create the recovery partition yesterday, but unfortunately the 10.11.6 El Capitan release was applied together with the last reboot.. And after the reboot the partition was not working and the recover mode is the original network mode.
I tried to repeat again and the script stops after pointing to El Capitan install App. Simply vanishes.
One message that I could not remember if it appeared in the first machine is: “CoreStorage detected”. Maybe it is relevant.
Does Filevault blocks the script to work? Or it was the combination of the 10.11.6 release that stops the script?
